This weekend thousands of music lovers made the annual
pilgrimage to music Mecca Glastonbury to see hundreds of artists perform at the
festival from the Arctic Monkeys to Rita Ora. Headlining on Saturday were rockers
the Rolling Stones who played a two and a half hour set full of hits such as
Satisfaction, Midnight Rambler and Brown Sugar. However, the mega rich band
only allowed the BBC to broadcast an hour of their performance because they
wanted to keep the other hour and a half to release on DVD to make even more
money from the loyal fans eager to see their full set.
Also performing at the festival was Sir Bruce Forsyth, the
85-year-old made his Glastonbury debut on the Avalon stage in front of 2,500
people. His routine was a mix of comedy
and dance which included him dancing to the Strictly Come Dancing theme tune
and reciting one of his famous catch phrases “Nice to see you to see you nice”.
Now that the five day festival is over a huge clean up is in
motion, it is thought that it will take six weeks to convert the Somerset land
back into the functioning dairy farm that it usually is when the festival isn’t
in town.
