Shocking news last night as Leighton Andrews resigned from his post as Welsh Education Minister. Mr Andrews stepped down from his position following criticism for backing a campaign to save a school in his constituency which faces closure as a result of his own department’s policy to tackle surplus school places. As the man responsible for GCSE’s and A’Levels here in Wales his resignation may be a trigger for the government to make changes to the exam system. Hopefully this won’t result in more upheaval for students and changes to the curriculum.
